Background :
Quark enabled its users to control the PPDs that could be activated in QuarkXPress independent of the Operating System. In bringing QuarkXPress to a closer alignment with the Operating System; it makes sense for QuarkXPress to use the same PPDs that are enabled in the Operating System and if a customer wants to disable a PDD that they don’t use, they can disable it in the Operating System and QuarkXPress honors that.
Solution:
To enable a PPD in QuarkXPress 10:
- Quit QuarkXPress 10.
- Go to; Mac HD > Library > Printers > PPDs > Contents > Resources
- Paste the PPD in the Resources folder.
- Launch QuarkXPress 10.
You will see the PPD available in PPD dropdown under Device tab of Print dialog box
To disable a PPD in QuarkXPress 10:
- Quit QuarkXPress 10.
- Go to; Mac HD > Library > Printers > PPDs > Contents > Resources
- Remove the PPD from Resources folder
- Launch QuarkXPress 10.
PPD will not show in PPD dropdown under Device tab of Print dialog
