This crash issue occurs after applying certain security updates for Windows 2003 server. Reverting the security updates does not fix the problem. The crash reports generated for every report of this problem show similar exception errors pointing to a OS system file: ntdll.dll.

Remove all the installed printers from the Windows 2003 Server and reboot the computer. Then reinstall the printers. QuarkXPress Server will then be able to process the rendering requests without crashing.
