OS Affected: Win XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7
Installing the latest Security update patch (KB2753842) by Microsoft (for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7) causes some issues with glyphs (text) disappearing. It only happens when this patch by Microsoft is installed.
We are currently investigating this issue and also reached out to Microsoft. It seems that there's a general change how Windows Operating System treats Type-1 fonts, as also other applications (e.g. from Adobe and Corel) are affected.
Since this is a security patch, Quark cannot recommend uninstalling the Microsoft security patch. Users who choose to uninstall the MS security patch need to understand the details from Microsoft and assess their risks. Quark and the many other software companies who’s customers have been affected are working with Microsoft to identify a fix as soon as possible.
