Background: White Drop Shadow does not print and does not display in an exported PDF due to the Multiply Drop Shadow setting being checked. This setting controls how the shadow is combined with the background color or colors using a “multiply” blending mode. This mode produces a darker result. When this box is checked, the color of the background is combined with the color of the shadow to create the intermediate shades you see on screen. In general, this box should be checked when the shadow is black (regardless of shade or opacity), but it should be unchecked when White or any light color is being used.

  1. Navigate to the Drop Shadow tab of the Measurements palette and uncheck Multiply Drop Shadow
  2. You can also change this setting by making the change in the Item > Modify dialog:
    a ) Go to Item > Modify
b ) Select the Drop Shadow tab and then uncheck Multiply Drop Shadow
