Applies to- QuarkXPress 2018 on Mac OS X and Windows 

Summary- With a native IDML Import, which presented as beta functionality in QuarkXPress 2017 for the first time,the goal is to enable users of InDesign to convert InDesign documents as good as possible to work on them in QuarkXPress 2018.


Solution-

  1. Choose “New > Project from IDML”> Select the IDML file in the file system.
  2. Once the file in open in QuarkXPress, user can work on it and can save it as a QuarkXPress document.


Kindly note that there are several features that will not be yet supported from IDML. For example, the following objects and attributes will be ignored and not converted:

  • Drop shadows
  • Hyperlinks and anchors
  • Underline styles
  • Table of Content
  • Indexes
  • Variables
  • Digital Layouts
  • Cross References
  • Tagged elements
  • Track changes
  • Interactivity
  • Footnotes and Endnotes
  • Lists
  • Image Advance Layers
  • Numbering
  • Callout Anchor
